The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on Wednesday to discuss the fate of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who is expected to be removed from office following a hearing Tuesday.
Senate Democrats have indicated that they would not allow Ginsburg to remain on the Supreme Court if she loses a trial in the case of her former chief of staff, who was charged with leaking privileged information.
Ginsburg is facing charges of obstruction of justice for leaking privileged memos that she wrote to President Donald Trump’s legal team after they met with the president to discuss a possible dismissal of her as the court’s chief justice.
In the memo, Ginsburg warned Trump’s lawyer not to contact the court unless Ginsburg personally told him to.
Ginburg is charged with obstructing justice and has denied the charges.
