A Florida judge sentenced a woman accused of throwing a toilet in a courtroom to 24 hours in jail on Friday after the woman was arrested, the Associated Press reported.
The woman was also ordered to pay a $25,000 fine and serve five days in jail.
The judge’s order was based on a video that showed the woman hurling the toilet in the courtroom on Dec. 7.
A judge ordered jail time after the video surfaced.
The video shows the woman throwing the toilet and it’s seen in the video.
She was released from jail without being charged.
The AP reported that the judge’s decision was based in part on a ruling that the video did not constitute evidence of criminal conduct.
The Florida Supreme Court ruled the video does not prove the defendant had committed a crime, but it was a violation of the judge-imposed jail time.
The state Supreme Court did not overturn the judge or jail sentence, the AP reported.
