“Godzilla” will likely be the last movie in the franchise to have a God of War sequel, and there’s no word yet if the studio is planning one.
“We’re not planning on it,” co-chairman Chris Morgan told IGN.
“God of Wars has had its God of war sequels.
We’re not looking at that right now.”
While Warner Bros. is currently making the final push to get the movie made, there’s still a lot of work to be done.
Morgan said there are “a lot of issues that need to be worked out.”
While there’s a new Godzilla, the film will have to keep the same cast, but “the cast is a little bit different.
They’ve got to make a decision of how much they want to make that their own.
And we’re going to have to work out that.”
Morgan also explained that Warner Bros.’ plan for “God Of War” is to “go with a larger cast.”
“They’re going with a bigger cast,” he said.
“It’s going to be more ambitious.”
Morgan and co-writer David S. Goyer have also said that the film “will be a big step up” in terms of quality, but it’ll be “very different” from the previous “God” movies.
“What we want to do is, it’s going be a step up in terms [than the first] film,” Goyer told IGN earlier this year.
“And we’ve got a lot more to work with.
We’ve got more stuff that we’ve had to do.”
Morgan has been an outspoken critic of “God Wars,” saying it was “not a good movie.”
“I don’t think there’s any reason to watch it,” he told The New York Times.
“I think it’s just not good.
It’s a bit of a missed opportunity.”
The movie is set to open on May 11, 2019.
